AMA Training Services is able to offer a number of courses as a traineeship, for students who are employed in Western Australia.

Medical Reception Trainees

AMA(WA) can assists GPs and Specialists in private practice to source high quality medical reception staff and provide these for only $31.75 p/hr via our Group Training Organisation (HTA). Candidates are sourced from our popular Medical Reception Course and will continue further training to complete a BSB30120 Certificate III in Business (Medical Administration).

The $31.75 p/hr ordinary time rate includes superannuation, payroll tax and worker’s compensation, and is made possible by the Federal Government’s generous 50% wage subsidy for trainees. The wage subsidy must be commenced before the 30th June 2022.

This initiative is an ideal way to meet your workforce needs. For more information, contact Peita Alberti at either or via 0499 334 945.

Trainees may be eligible for the New Employee Traineeship if they have been employed less than 3 months full time (refer to your award) or 12 months part time with their current employer, work at least 15-20 hours each week (depending on your award), and do not hold any formal qualifications that precludes eligibility.

Training Delivery

On-The-Job Training

Trainees will receive training and learning resources to help them achieve the competencies. Trainees are assigned a Trainer/Workplace Assessor to assist them during the Traineeship.

Off-The-Job Training

Is available through various mediums including via the internet/email communications with a trainer, in a class room or on a one to one basis at the workplace.

Skills Recognition

Trainees may apply and be credited with Recognition of Prior Learning for competencies, depending on previous experience and prior knowledge.

A Workplace Assessor will mentor, support and assess the trainee during the Traineeship. The assessment process includes a combination of verbal questioning & discussion, demonstration, gathering a portfolio of evidence, assignments and employer support. Trainee’s progress throughout the Traineeship is recorded in a Training Record Book, which is progressively signed off as the trainee achieves competency in each area.
