Mental Health Safety Training – Standard
This course is suitable for staff in client/customer/patient facing roles, peer workers, mentors and any staff acting as a workplace mental health first aider.

Course Format
This is a 12-hour course delivered over two days. Participants will receive a Resource Book and will be awarded a Mental Health Safety Officer Certificate issued by the AMA WA Work Better Program which is valid for 2 years.

The Standard course focuses on the skills and knowledge required assist a colleague who is developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis.
Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of these mental health problems, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective. All information is contextualised to the workplace.
